Several months ago such discussion was already rising.
In that pre-GA time we hear that it was a "Decision" to make font rendering peculiar from modern rules.

Being the big fan of JavaFX 2.0, it is very hard for me to see GREAT amount of negative comments, caused by simply bad font rendering. 

JavaFX 2.0 already has many weak points vs strong competitors. Is there any need to yet another weakness that will annoy developers just because someone somewhere decided that it will be "right" to have such font rendering as now?
