Description
The custom progress functionality is currently being used by JavaFX to provide a default loading experience for JavaFX based applets and web start applications. This feature (as described by the URLs below) should be incorporated in Java 7 (and hopefully "back ported" to 6u23) so that all Java based applets and applications can benefit.

This has been ignored, but I think we should consider it. The current Java spinner is out-dated.

Are we going to revisit this for JDK8?

EVALUATION this bug fix is available at http://sa.sfbay.sun.com/projects/deployment_data/7/6964082.4 due to other higher priority task and disapproval from release team, this fix will not put back to jdk7.
