FULL PRODUCT VERSION :
Current Java version:
java version "1.7.0_51"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.7.0_51-b13)
Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 24.51-b03, mixed mode)

ADDITIONAL OS VERSION INFORMATION :
10.10 (build 14A329f)

A DESCRIPTION OF THE PROBLEM :
When I open the java panel in the System Preferences, it prompts me to update to the latest version of Java. When I attempt to do so, it appears to work correctly, however it doesn't actually install.

When I attempt to install the JDK, it says that I can only install java on versions 10.7.3 or later immediately after stating that I'm running on version 10.10.

STEPS TO FOLLOW TO REPRODUCE THE PROBLEM :
Attempt to install java on the beta version of Mac OS (Yosemite)

EXPECTED VERSUS ACTUAL BEHAVIOR :
EXPECTED -
I was attempting to update/install the latest version of Java 7.
ACTUAL -
I am unable to install the updates.

ERROR MESSAGES/STACK TRACES THAT OCCUR :
Your system has Mac OS X Version 10.10. This product can be installed on Version 10.7.3 or later.

REPRODUCIBILITY :
This bug can be reproduced always.
