Description
FULL PRODUCT VERSION :
Java Platform
Standard Edition 6
Version 6 Update 7 (build 1.6.0_07-b06)

ADDITIONAL OS VERSION INFORMATION :
Windows Vista Service Pack 1

A DESCRIPTION OF THE PROBLEM :
Following a reset of Internet Explorer Vista (due to performance issues) Java applets will now not run unless User Account Control is disabled.
I have correctly enabled addons in internet explorer and have enabled JRE 1.6.0_7 in "advanced" and have correctly configured the Java Control Panel correctly. Also the Java console will not appear when clicked in internet explorer tools.
If I disable "User Account Control", Java applets will run properly but I want to have user account control enabled and Java 1.6.0_06 ran properly before the reset of internet explorer. I have been trying to fix this for months and installed _07 in an attempt, but no everytime I want to access my medical database I have to disable User Account Control and restart my machine and then re-enable and restart when I am finished.
This is a highly unsatisfactory situation, and I am unable to find a solution!
Is it some sort of permissions issue with java needs to be fixed!

STEPS TO FOLLOW TO REPRODUCE THE PROBLEM :
Reset Internet Explorer 7 (Vista service pack 1) whilst Java installed.

EVALUATION We have seen problems on a small number of Vista SP1 installations where Java didn't install properly because the installer didn't run as administrator. However, this doesn't appear to be a widespread problem, and we haven't seen any situations where Java once installed would fail to run applets under UAC. The classic plug-in can't run signed applets with normal permissions under UAC. The new Java Plug-In in 6u10 solves this problem. Please ask the customer to re-test with the 6u10 builds currently available and see whether they solve the problem. Marking as incomplete pending receipt of this information.
