The locale data based on the Unicode Consortium's CLDR (Common Locale Data Registry) has been upgraded in JDK 9 to release release 29. See http://cldr.unicode.org/index/downloads/cldr-29 for more detail.

The locale data based on the Unicode Consortium's CLDR (Common Locale Data Registry) has been upgraded. JDK9 uses their release 29, from release 21.0.1 in JDK8. For more detail on CLDR release 29, refer to http://cldr.unicode.org/index/downloads/cldr-29
