Description
The following 2 pages have incorrect information and apparently not intended to be part of the JDK 9 documentation. They need to be removed:

http://download.java.net/java/jdk9/docs/technotes/tools/windows/java.html

http://download.java.net/java/jdk9/docs/technotes/tools/unix/java.html

There may be similar content that would also need to be removed. My understanding of what Clifford said is that the docs located at http://docs.oracle.com/javase/9/ should be the only JDK 9 docs made public.

I was worried about that. I sent Raymond an email yesterday about it and will reassign it to him for now to sort out the person who can take care of this. It's good that you found these before we got too far down the road.

Thank you for the clarification. These docs have already been crawled by Google (and without a doubt other search engines). So it is critical to remove them ASAP to prevent confusion and the spread of incorrect information. Perhaps this bug report can be reassigned to whoever would be responsible for removing these "false JDK9" pages?

Yes that was confusing - I didn't notice the "download.java.net" site that these links are pointing to: http://download.java.net/java/jdk9/docs/technotes/tools/windows/java.html http://download.java.net/java/jdk9/docs/technotes/tools/unix/java.html These are not the correct location for the released JDK 9 docs - these look like engineering locations. The docs that these are pointing to are actually JDK 8 docs and should not be referenced. The correct JDK 9 docs are published on http://docs.oracle.com/javase/9/. I'll let Raymond know about the confusion with the old docs that are on the eng site.

I am not quite sure I totally understand. Are you saying that the 2 pages I provided links to in this bug's description will be consolidated into the one page listed in the review? The page in the review looks like the page that was already fixed for JDK 9 (http://docs.oracle.com/javase/9/tools/java.htm#JSWOR624), not the two that are broken in the EA1 release that I mention in this bug's description.

These are the locations of published docs and will be updated when the EA2 update is released. The updated pages that will be in the EA2 release can be reviewed at: http://review.us.oracle.com/review2/Review.html#reviewId=311171;scope=review;status=open,fixed;documentId=1622012;fragment=GUID-3B1CE181-CD30-4178-9602-230B800D4FAE
