VP6 is an outdated video format that is no longer used much on the web. Even the early promoters of VP6 have deprecated it's use in favor of H.264 and tools for creating VP6 content are very hard to come by now (modern tools prefer H.264). Most content developers have switched to H.264 or some other modern codec (VP8/WebM/etc...).

I propose deprecation of the VP6 video codec and the FXM/FLV file format in JDK 9 and a complete removal in JDK 10.
