JDK 9 Tools Ref Guide has already been fixed. 8u40 Release Notes already contain the deprecation notice.

This was already added to the 8u40 Release Notes. No references to mJRE exists in the JDK 9 Tools Ref Guide and the -version: release option was deleted by JDK-8061355. There is no JDK9 doc task remaining for this one.
