REPRODUCIBILITY :
This bug can be reproduced always.
---------- BEGIN SOURCE ----------
import java.util.stream.Stream;
public class JavacBug {
public static void main(String[] args) {
long r = Stream.empty().reduce(0L, (a, x) -> a + 1L, Long::sum);
}
}
---------- END SOURCE ----------
CUSTOMER SUBMITTED WORKAROUND :
Declaring r as Long or explicitly specifying types in BiFunction fixes the problem
