A user reported the following: "The latest version of Java for Macintosh will NOT let me disable automatic updates. Every time I turn it off and click ok, close the java window.. The open it back up and it has the Automatic Update Java Checked! I cannot have this update automatically! I prefer to update it when I want to! PLEASE HELP!"

Reproduced by the support team with Java 7u55.

Steps to reproduce:
1 - Uncheck the updates
2 - Click Apply....
3 - Enter password....
4 - Click OK...
5 - Reopen control panel....
6 - Check box still checked.
Comments
Tried changing JavaAutoUpdateEnabled in /Library/Preferences/com.oracle.java.Java-Updater.plist, looks like on Mavericks JCP setting does not actually get/set the key value and the "Auto Update" always got checked.

Customer Confirmed: The bug is for the LATEST version of OS X, 10.9.2, with both Java 7 and Java 8.

Tested with 7u55 and 8u20 on OS X 10.8.5, auto update check box works fine. Need to talk to support to see if I missed anything for the repro. One note, for step 4, picture 3, it's "continue to check" or "do no check" button.
