When hardware acceleration is enabled on a Intel HD4000. The text in a text area and menus are clipped or distorted while running the Java Control Panel on Windows 7. The workaround is to disable hardware acceleration.

Kinsley, this is "fixed" in the team repo now, the fix is to blacklist older driver versions.
Could you please update your video driver from the Intel site to at least 9,18,10,3257 version and verify that artifacts are gone?

This is most probably a dup for JDK-8023590.
We need a JDK build number and Intel HD Graphics driver version.

Vadim, please evaluate it, is it dup?
Is it critical one?

What JDK8 build is this ? We very recently disabled acceleration for some known bad driver versions.
But it can't affect 7u45 - we don't enable acceleration on Intel there. Please double-check what you saw there
