Description
Seeing an issue with the release of JRE 7u25 on Mac OSX.

In the Firefox browser, clicking on a JavaButton/JComboBox results in the dropdown being drawn much higher than the target button (please see sample screenshots below).

This was not an issue in Java 7u21.

System Information:
         Mac OSX 10.8.4
         Firefox 21
         Java Plug-in 10.25.2.15 using JRE version 1.7.0_25-b15

Comments
The discussion with Mozilla shows that the root cause of this bug is JDK-8016489. So, this issue is actually a duplicate.

The Mozilla bug# is 887188. Closing the issue as it is not a Java problem.

what is Mozilla bug#?

removed regression label as reproducible in 7u6 (FF 21 issue)

- downgraded to P3 as FF 21 issue - needs to be closed as "Not a Defect" - untargeted to 7u40 as a FF 21 issue

Not reproducible with Safari. Not reproducible with Firefox 20 & 7u25. Reproducible with Firefox 21 & 7u25. Reproducible with Firefox 21 & 7u40 Reproducible with Firefox 21 & 7u6 Reproducible with Firefox 24 & 7u40 Looks like the issue is reproducible in Firefox starting from version 21, in FF20 the applet woks as expected. So, I suppose it is a regression in FF21. It is not a regression is Java as the issue is reproducible with 7u6 in FF21. I will try to figure out what's changed with plugin support between FF21 and FF20 and file a bug against Mozilla. This issue should be either closed or untargeted from 7u40 as it is not a regression in Java. We probably could workaround the problem in Java, but it's better to check with Mozilla first.

Petr, please evaluate from 7u40 perspectives
