This is a SUNBUG for 100208: https://bugs.openjdk.java.net/show_bug.cgi?id=100208

Patch including both the logic fix and the test.

Revised version of the patch versus JDK8 attached as ParseFloat.patch.

Comments

This is not duplicate of 6358355, at least not a direct duplicate. It is possible that there is duplication via forked code but this remains to be investigated.
