Description
There are cases JVMs for Linux cannot handle stack overflow and reporting the problem in hs_error file due to the lack of this feature.  An implementation is already suggested in 7109520.  Please look into the feature and plan adding it to Java SE.

There is almost zero chance that we will consider using alternate signal stacks again. Given this was filed against JDK 6 which is EOL I am closing this as "Will not Fix". If there is a new justification for investigating restoring alternate signal stacks then a new issue should be filed. Thank you.

There are already bugs open relating to use of the alt-signal stack. We used it once and then got rid of it. There has been some debate as to whether it really serves any purpose to try and restore it.
