EVALUATION The 6u10 with 64-bit flag on, a.k.a. windows-amd64-64bit (http://j2se.east/arc/1.6.0_10/pit/2008-05-16.18_56/windows-amd64-64bit/) does not have this problem. That installation shows in Add or Remove Programs as "Java(TM) 6 Update 10 (64-bit)" with a Java cup icon.
