The file...

...is now available; this reflects the changes circulated last week on
the time zone mailing list (including renaming Asia/Calcutta to
Asia/Kolkata, with a backward link provided).

It's the season for changes, and I'm still hoping to get good
documentation on what happened in Venezuela earlier this year, so expect
a tzdata2008c.tar.gz fairly soon.

EVALUATION I'm closing this RFE (for JDK7) as "will not fix" because tzdata2008c was released. The RFE id for tzdata2008c is 6707643. Tzdata2008b has been integrated into 6-open(b09), 6u7, 5.0u16, 1.4.2_18, and 1.3.1_23. Tzdata2008c will be integrated into later JDK versions.
