Unable to launch 142_xx Java Webstart with a new OS installation of SuSE9.3pro
OS Details:
SuSE Linux 9.3 (i586)
Version=9.3
JDK_HOME=j2sdk1.4.2_10
/export/updates/jdks/j2sdk1.4.2_10/jre/javaws/javaws

After executing the above command its just hanging, no error or exception displayed

EVALUATION this is a duplicate of 6188963, which was fixed in 1.5.0u2 and mustang. If backport to 1.4.2 is required, then this must be escallated or handled by the sustaining team.

WORK AROUND manually we need to create deployment.properties file under For root login /root/.java/.deployment For user login /home/user/.java/.deployment
