The windows-amd64 launcher refuses to accept the -d64 switch. It should accept
it silently, just like the linux-amd64 launcher does.

If the help message of java.exe is considered the specification (or the windows "man page" for the java command), the windows amd64 launcher is behaving as specified; -d64 is not listed as a valid option on that platform. More generally, the -d<n> flags are not supported on any windows platform; -d32 doesn't work on windows x86 either. Originally, the -d<n> flags only worked on sparc solaris because that was the only platform where binaries of multiple data models were supported. In Tiger for bug 4894330, the launcher was changed to accept the no-op data model argument on unix platforms.
