Description
Some PC-OEMs redistribute the JRE on Windows with Java Auto-Update disabled.
We need to develop a mechanism to allow users to easily re-enable Java Auto-Update. If auto-update is disabled, we should prompt the user
occasionally to re-enable. It is important to encourage users to enable auto-update so they can quickly get security updates and important escalation fixes.

This feature requires a full engineering specification and UE spec as well.

EVALUATION The behaviour of option JAVAUPDATE=0 ( which is used by PC-OEMS's), is changed as part of: 6257124 - Update JAVAUPDATE command line option in JRE installer for PC-OEMs This is fixed in mustang(6.) and 5.0U5B2 Now, if PC-OEM's use JAVAUPDATE=0, the users will be prompted at plugin startup. Java Update prompt at plugin startup has been there from 5.0 release. This prompt screen has been modified in Mustang(6.0) as part of new UE. ###@###.### 2005-06-09 14:10:17 GMT
