Description
FULL PRODUCT VERSION :
java version "1.5.0"
Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.5.0-b64)
Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 1.5.0-b64, mixed mode, sharing)

ADDITIONAL OS VERSION INFORMATION :
SuSE Linux 9.2

EXTRA RELEVANT SYSTEM CONFIGURATION :
Xfce Window Manager (binary packages: http://turing.fh-landshut.de/~bwalle/xfce-4.1.99.2/)

A DESCRIPTION OF THE PROBLEM :
If I switch desktop, Java windows always get the focus. There's no problem with other application.

STEPS TO FOLLOW TO REPRODUCE THE PROBLEM :
1. On Desktop 1, open 2 windows, a Java window (serialver -show does it) and e.g. a xterm.
2. Bring the Xterm in front.
3. Switch the desktop.
4. Open xterm.
5. Switch back to desktop 1.

EXPECTED VERSUS ACTUAL BEHAVIOR :
EXPECTED -
The Java window has the focus
ACTUAL -
The Xterm should have the focus because it had the focus before switching.

ERROR MESSAGES/STACK TRACES THAT OCCUR :
No error message.

REPRODUCIBILITY :
This bug can be reproduced always.

---------- BEGIN SOURCE ----------
No source code is needed, simply use serialver -show.
---------- END SOURCE ----------

CUSTOMER SUBMITTED WORKAROUND :
Well, changing the window manager. Other window manager handle desktop switching different, so the but does not exist there.

The problem has been confirmed by the developer of the Xfce window manager, Olivier Fourdan. Read here http://news.gmane.org/gmane.comp.desktop.xfce.devel.version4/cutoff=4605 .

EVALUATION This is known issue and this is very similar to 5094112 which will be available in one of the nearest updates for 5.0. Also this is done for Mustang b15. You may suggest a submitter to check the behaviour with Mustang b15 or just wait for 5.0_02. I'm not sure when it will be released though. ###@###.### 2004-12-17 11:40:26 GMT ###@###.### 2004-12-20 09:11:30 GMT most likelythe problem was fixed by mentioned bug. Please confirm that it is not reproducible with 5.0u2 and current mustang build. ###@###.### 2005-07-04 10:47:27 GMT
