This is a duplicate of 4938584. I tried to fix this back in December 2003, but both Thorsten Laux and Joe Kowalski rejected my fix (i.e. create the /usr/bin links). Thorsten was concerned that we might be violating an existing namespace. As I recall, Joe was just backing Thorsten's view until we could get more information. Thorsten was supposed to look into this namespace issue, and either agree that Sun has the right to create this link, or suggest an alternative. I tired several times in December and early January to get Thorsten's feedback, and eventually decided to defer any changes until Dragonfly.
