Name: jk109818 Date: 11/06/2002 FULL PRODUCT VERSION : java version "1.4.0" Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.4.0-b92) Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 1.4.0-b92, mixed mode) A DESCRIPTION OF THE PROBLEM : Bug #4218549 should be reopened. This is a bug that seriously impairs application functionality. This bug causes Java applications to not behave the same as Win32 applications, in particular the JFileChooser is almost impossible to use unless to train users to repeatedly try to click on selections without moving the mouse. The Evaluation on Bug #4218549 suggested: Users should configure their mouse behavior in the Mouse Control Panel. I could not find a double-click drift factor in the Mouse Control Panel. Other Win32 applications do not behave this way, why Java? STEPS TO FOLLOW TO REPRODUCE THE PROBLEM : 1. Try using the JFileChooser, or follow steps described in Bug #4218549 EXPECTED VERSUS ACTUAL BEHAVIOR : Expect: Double-click and selection is made. Result: Double-click and selection is not made. REPRODUCIBILITY : This bug can be reproduced always. (Review ID: 166672) ======================================================================
