I was mystified by that error, having no idea what the problem might me. It turned out that I had JWS running, at the time, and I needed to close for the installation of the new version to proceed. But JWS needs to be downloaded and installed by dummies (such as meself, at times). So it needs a friendlier error message, such as: "Unable to install. Make sure no other versions are running. Otherwise, check directory permissions"
