This is being artificially being set to P4. It should be promoted to P2 after merlin.

On windows and CDE, pressing Alt+Space brings up the window manager menu. With swing applications, this does not work. Pressing and releasing the Alt key, *then* pressing space does work (called "alt-then-space"). However, users have no way to know about the workaround, so the standard Alt-space behavior should work.

EVALUATION AWT is providing this behavior, it is not specific to swing, reassigning. ###@###.### 2002-02-07 This is an old issue. However, according to the submitter, it deserves greater prominence due to the implications for accessibility. Since we already have developers tracking the existing bug, I'll close this report as a duplicate of the existing report. ###@###.### 2002-02-07 We have a fix for the Windows behavior (4141621). I had this report reopened to track the issue on Unix platforms. ###@###.### 2002-09-17 Alt+space does work on CDE in build 12 of JDK1.4.2. However, Alt-then-space does not. Of course, Alt-then-space doesn't work with any CDE application, whether it is written in Java or not (e.g. dtterm, bugtraq+). The Description is probably somewhat inaccurate here. I would say that this issue is resolved appropriately in Mantis. ###@###.### 2003-01-09
