java version "1.3.1"
Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.3.1-b24)
Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 1.3.1-b24, mixed mode)

I have installed jre 1.4 beta 2, which contains java web start 1.0.1_01,
and during the installation my web start cache was erased!
now i have to download again the apps i had installed before....
in the next version the web start setup should NOT erase the existing
applications in the cache!

java version "1.4.0-beta2"
Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.4.0-beta2-b77)
Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 1.4.0-beta2-b77, mixed mode)

As already after installation of the first beta of Java2 SDK 1.4.0,
the Java Web Start downloaded applications are gone after I installed
the new beta2 of the SDK 1.4.0! THIS IS VERY ANNOYING!!! because
all the megabytes of downloaded apps and (even worse:) the URLs
to start the Java Web Start version are gone, away, removed, deleted ...
