EVALUATION We were not converting the encoded message strings correctly. We now use the iconv() function to convert from UCS-2 (the message files are in ASCII-encoded UCS-2 or UCS-2-Java) to UTF-8. Then, for non UTF-8 locales, we convert again to the proper encoding for the locale. -stephen.bohne@East 2001-05-01
