JDK-4337646 - sun/tools/jar/resources/jar.properties duplicated in rt.jar
Description
The rt.jar file in the J2RE contains a file sun/applet/resources/MsgAppletViewer.class as well as localized versions. The same files also exist in the J2SDK's tools.jar file. Why are these files in the J2RE? Are some of the strings also used by the java.applet package, or is there a bug in the make files?

EVALUATION See 4337646 for comments on a similar bug in sun/tools/jar. norbert.lindenberg@Eng 2000-11-08 The entire source for AppletViewer currently resides in both rt.jar and tools.jar. There is not a bug in the makefiles. Ideally, we would remove all of AppletViewer from rt.jar as is proposed in 4143916. As alluded to by zhenghua@eng in the evaluation for bug 4337646, this would be a major undertaking. Closing this as a duplicate of bug 4143916, the bug that requests us to remove AppletViewer from rt.jar. iris.garcia@eng 2000-11-08
