EVALUATION The mapping mechanism doesn't work for some timezones. Java uses the region information of a locale as a mapping parameter, which leads mismatches in some cases. masayoshi.okutsu@Eng 1999-07-23 The mapping mechanism was completely changed. A new mapping table (text file) was introduced for performing Solaris time zone ID to Java time zone ID mapping. Both are based on the Olson public zoneinfo. However, each uses a different subset.
