This behaviour is visible in SwingSet in the
Swing 1.1 Beta 3 release. In the Internal Frame
demo, create a frame. Increase the size of the
main SwingSet frame (increasing the desktop as
well) and then iconify the window. It appears
suspended in mid-desktop, where the bottom used
to be.

Un-iconify the window and resize the frame to
smaller than its original size. Re-iconify the
window; it is now offscreen and inaccessible.
