The docking in your example apps (e.g., Notepad)
still does not work properly. It really stinks
to use right now.

In Swing 1.0.1 on NT 4.0 SP 3, with Windows "Show
window contents while dragging turned OFF".

You closed one bug report on this, and probably
should not have.

I can drag it and float it, but then when I try
to drag it again, it "lets go" after I drag it a
few pixels. Then I have trouble "grabbing" it
again. Eventually it will let me drag it again,
and I can dock it. Sometimes I drag it and it
appears offset (by hundreds of pixels) from my
cursor. Sometimes the drag pane gets lost under
other windows. Sometimes it obscures the floating
toolbar even when I'm not dragging it.

Believe it or not, this is actually an improvement
over Swing 0.7.

EVALUATION This happens because of a bug in AWT on Windows. This report should be made a dupe of that bug.
