I don't know what you did in the Java Performance
Pack for Windows (JPP113.exe) but File/Disk IO
is now really slow. Operations that took about
1 sec now take 5-6 secs to complete.
Other than that, it looks good. Looking
forward for the next release.

[more information from user]

------

Hi,

Well, the problem showed up mostly on a slower NT server machine
running JDK 1.1.3 and the JPP. I used RandomAccessFiles
and had many seeks, reads and writes (between two files).

I tried to put together a test program for you to show
the problem but I can no longer reproduce it. This is really strange
as I had no problems a week ago (the code in that part of the program
hasn't changed). I'm at a loss of what happened other than I guess I
cried 'Wolf' before I should have. I'm sorry for wasting your time.
I'll make sure to poke into a problem a bit more next time something
like this comes up before informing you guys.

Again, sorry for wasting your time, and thanks for looking into
this (non-existing) bug.

Darcy

EVALUATION I didn't reproduce. With JCK java.io test suite, non-jit version took 56 minutes, and jit version took 32 minutes (using released 1.1.3 and released jit). We need more info. weston.isberg@Eng 1997-07-24 Closed: Original filer could not reproduce (See amended description). ###@###.###da 1997-11-14
