Description
On linux and windows x86_64, we often run in virtualized environments (VMWare/KVM/Xen ...).
It is helpful to get at least very basic information about the used virtualized environment in the hs_error file.
The change supports detecting the following virtualized environments on linux and windows x86_64 :
- XenHVM (Xen hardware-assisted virtualization)
- KVM
- VMWare
- HyperV
Comments
Fix Request I would like to have the patch as well in jdk11, because it improves the supportability / hs_err file output. The patch applies cleanly (when patching, one hunk in one file had to be approved, but could be taken too "as is").
