Description
This is to revert the fix for JDK-8162804, which was done to revert the fix for JDK-8154148 that was intended for 9 (only) but was inadvertently pushed to the 8u-dev. Now we also want JDK-8154148 for 8u-dev.

I've tested it on JDK8u with and without running in VirtualBox. It works as usual running as native (outside of VirtualBox) and fallback gracefully to software pipe within VirtualBox.
