Bug process-wise this report is very confusing. It was (apparently) created to ask for the 'will not fix' decision for JDK-5109347 to be reconsidered. That bug was close saying it would not be fixed in 6 updates. I don't know why it was phrased like that. If a main bug is closed out it means will not fix (ever). But I am not sure that was the intended meaning. This new bug should probably just have been a comment/question on the old one. Now this bug has been made into a backport to a future release of a bug that was closed as will not fix .. there's nothing to backport ! I intend to tidy up this mess by closing out this as simply a duplicate of the other bug. If someone wants to re-open that one, then that is the better approach Also its not clear but I think its referring to the "cross-platform"dialog only. Not the windows native one since that was the subject of the earlier bug.
