Did you try the deployJava.js from http://java.com/js/deployJava.js? As far as I know, the fixed version is in the jdk8/deploy/deploy repo and is live in the above url, but not in the jdk8/jdk8/deploy repo.

request to add this fix for jdk8: This is not tied to any release. It's a live file on Java.com : http://java.com/js/deployJava.js. We need to keep the live copy and the copy in our repo in sync.
