SHORT SUMMARY: 
Introduce option to setKeepAlive parameter on CORBA sockets 

INDICATORS: 

Cu has issues with firewall closing out idle sockets. 

COUNTER INDICATORS: 
TRIGGERS: 
Idle CORBA sockets being closed unexpectedly by other processes 

KNOWN WORKAROUND: 
Suggestions made but not accepted : 
* Close out unused sockets at the application client level 
* Create a simple Ping CORBA service which could send some 
data down CORBA sockets at regurlar intervals
