Perm Gen used to have a MemoryPool so that applications running on the VM could introspect and find out how much metadata memory was being used.
We should implement a MemoryPool for Metaspace to provide information about memory used for metadata, committed memory for metadata etc.
The CCC request has been approved and the review is out on the hotspot-gc-dev@openjdk.java.net and is pending review.

Currently waiting on approval from CCC, will send out a webrev after the proposal has been approved.
