Description
The apt tool and API was always planned as a transitory measure under the annotation processing functionality could be standardized. JSR 269 standardized the functionality in Java SE 6, the apt tool and API was deprecated in JDK 7, so the apt tool and API should be removed from the JDK in JDK 8.
