The fix for 6642444 introduced a race condition in the setup of the "java", "netscape" and "Packages" variables that are newly supported in IE in the new Java Plug-In. They are not initially visible, which causes OnLoad handlers which attempt to work with these variables to break.

EVALUATION Set these variables up earlier, in SetClientSite, and added a barrier during the fetching of the associated objects similar to that added in 6642444 for the fetching of the scriptable object associated with the applet.
