Description
we would like allow pack200 and version download protocol support on both java web start and java plug-in without any server side requirements.

currently to use pack200, both products require server backend support, e.g servlet.

for jnlp version download protocol, you will need the JNLPDownloadServlet.

we would like to remove all server requirements for version downlaod protocl and pack200.

Comments
EVALUATION Although this specifically requests supporting "version download protocol", which cannot be done w/o server size supporting that protocol, I think the meat of the request is to support versioning. The thrust of 6378311 is to support versioning without needing to support "version download protocol. (as well as supporting pack200 without supporting pack200 download protocol.) So I am closing this as a dupe 6378311.
