Description
problem exists since 1.5.0

on JDS 3 cinnabar, (build 30+), java web start failed to create desktop shortcuts

this is because our code creates the desktop file under ~/.gnome-desktop/.

However, newer gnome that JDS 3 uses now expect the file to be included in ~/Desktop

EVALUATION we should consider backport: 5101866: better gnome shortcut support implementation into a tiger update releases. this seems to fix the problem ###@###.### 2005-04-29 00:08:25 GMT I have opened a sub-cr of 5101866 for 5.0, and marked this as a dupe. ###@###.### 2005-06-23 14:44:20 GMT It's a bit risky to backport 5101866. Reopened it for 5.0u6.
