Description
On the Java Desktop System j2se needs to be set up such that it is the default JRE in the system. A link /usr/java/j2redefault should be created that points to /usr/java/j2re1.4.2_0x and /usr/bin/java needs to be linked to /usr/java/j2redefault/bin/java.

The default java should be 1.5 not 1.4.2.

Comments
EVALUATION Eventually Linux will also need to support mJRE, but until then the RPM can create links in /usr/bin. ###@###.### 2003-12-05 This bug is addressed by CR 6211006 -- Default Java on Linux, which is implemented in Mustang (will probably go into the general codebase approx b36.) There are no plans to backport this change to earlier releases at this time. ###@###.### 2005-04-15 19:55:25 GMT
