Description
Platform: AMD 64 Suse Linux Enterprise Server (SLES) 8
Release: J2SE 1.5.0 Tiger b15
Bundles: All linux-i586 bundles

Cannot register plugin with mozilla(1.0.1) bundled in SLES 8

Upon creating a softlink to the plugin file and running mozilla, JPI is not getting registered with mozilla. Mozilla is not throwing any errors in the terminal window.
I tried both gcc 2.9 and gcc 3.2 compiled plugins in tiger. Both dont work.
I also tried running the browser in 32bit OS mode. It still doesnt work.

J2SE 1.4.2 also does not work.

But i downloaded 1.0.1, 1.2.1, 1.4 versions of mozilla built by mozilla.org. they seem to register & work w/o problem.

EVALUATION We are not officically asked for supporting AMD64 browser. From the fact that the Mozilla community release works fine with Java Plug-in, it indicates that AMD64 platform compiles the Mozilla in its own way. So unless we are asked for supporting it, we are not going to diliever JPI on that platform. Lower the priority to P5. ###@###.### 2003-08-19 Unless we are asked to support Mozilla shipped with AMD64 system, this bug won't get fixed. ###@###.### 2003-09-30 No resource available for Tiger. Commit it to Mustang. ###@###.### 2003-10-01 Ashwin, can you remove the red flag. Looks like we can fix it in 1.5.1 ###@###.### 2003-10-03 The Suse mozilla is a 64bit app which is why we see this failure. Mozilla current builds are 32bit apps, however a 64bit version is in progress from mozilla. ###@###.### 2003-11-12
