Description

Name: gm110360 Date: 03/13/2003

FULL PRODUCT VERSION :
java version "1.4.1._01"
Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition <build 1.4.1_01-b01>
Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM <build 1.4.1_01-b01, mixed mode>

FULL OPERATING SYSTEM VERSION :
Microsoft Windows 2000 [Version 5.00.2195]

A DESCRIPTION OF THE PROBLEM :
When running IE6 with the Microsoft JVM the two webpages I
access that update periodically always update in the
background.
When the Sun JRE 1.4 plugin activated this background
updating causes the webpage being updated to grab the focus
and comes to the front.
I cannot supply the urls as they can only be accesed by a
licensed user - but they are www adresses.
My client cannot run with the sun JRE until this issue is
resolved.

EXPECTED VERSUS ACTUAL BEHAVIOR :
I expect that the default beaviour running the Microsoft
jvm being that background updating webpages that remain in
the background with the Microsoft JVM applied also remain
in the background when the Sun plugin is activated.

REPRODUCIBILITY :
This bug can be reproduced always.

EVALUATION Not a show stopper for mantis. ###@###.### 2003-03-14 This is a duplicate of AWT bug 4984794 - Invisible applet steals focus from HTML form field (MSIE, Sun plug-in only).. This is the similar case when applet grabs focus. ###@###.### 2004-12-09 ###@###.### 2004-12-09 19:36:13 GMT
