Bug 4356787: MIDI device I/O is not working is marked fixed, but it is only fixed for Windows. MIDI i/o is still missing for Linux (and Solaris, but there is no Solaris MIDI API available).

WORK AROUND ###@###.### 2002-12-10 Tritonus (http://www.tritonus.org) offers a Linux implementation for MIDI i/o using ALSA.
