Description

Name: nt126004 Date: 08/12/2002

FULL PRODUCT VERSION :
java version "1.4.1-beta"
Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.4.1-beta-b14)
Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 1.4.1-beta-b14, mixed mode)

FULL OPERATING SYSTEM VERSION :

C:\>ver

Microsoft Windows 2000 [Version 5.00.2195]

A DESCRIPTION OF THE PROBLEM :
When uninstalling Java Web Start the javaws.cfg file is not
uninstalled from the $USERPROFILE/.javaws directory.

If the file has an error in it (as mine did) then when the
user uninstalls Web Start the file should be removed. When
reinstalling the file will be installed with out an error.

STEPS TO FOLLOW TO REPRODUCE THE PROBLEM :
1. Install Java Web Start 1.2 (SDK 1.4.1)
2. Run uninstaller
3. See that the file and directory are still there

EXPECTED VERSUS ACTUAL BEHAVIOR :
I expected the file to be removed when I uninstalled. In
reality it was still there.

REPRODUCIBILITY :
This bug can be reproduced always.

CUSTOMER WORKAROUND :
Remove file manually. Which is a little difficult because I
did not know the file existed.

EVALUATION The change in mantis to common java settings in control panel for plugin, javaws, and other java config will make this moot. javaws.cfg will go away in mantis. ###@###.### 2002-08-13 This was fixed with the Installshield 7 merge. ###@###.### 2002-11-04
