Description

Name: nt126004 Date: 03/14/2002

FULL PRODUCT VERSION :
java version "1.4.0"
Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.4.0-b92)
Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 1.4.0-b92, mixed mode)

FULL OPERATING SYSTEM VERSION :Windows 2000

ADDITIONAL OPERATING SYSTEMS :Win NT, Win 95

A DESCRIPTION OF THE PROBLEM :
The JWS does not update any existing windows shortcuts
and program folder links when an application's title
is changed in the jnlp file.

This can only be done via Remove shortcuts and create
shortcuts in the application manager. It causes
an issue when applications are deployed by corporations
to hundreds and thousands of customers. A small branding
change ( like change in the name of the application )
would mean the customers would have to manually create
shortcuts.

STEPS TO FOLLOW TO REPRODUCE THE PROBLEM :
1.Load an application from a server and create shortcuts.
2.Change the application's Title in the jnlp file.
3.Reload the application - The shortcuts and program
links are not updated.

EXPECTED VERSUS ACTUAL BEHAVIOR :
Upon the title change, please update the shortcuts and
program folder links. Basically execute the same Java calls
that are done in create, update shortcuts in the app
manager.

This bug can be reproduced always.
