The jar program has a -C option to change the specified directory.

An option like this would be useful for the java launcher. I could
use this option to change the directory of a new instance of a jvm.
This would provide some of functionality of chdir() which is missing
in the java runtime environment.

EVALUATION A non-standard option -Xcd could be added to the launcher. anand.palaniswamy@Eng 1999-08-04 A good idea. ###@###.### 2002-03-19 Will reconsider post-Tiger. ###@###.### 2003-10-21 There is little utility of having a -C option over changing directories before starting Java. Closing as will not fix. ###@###.### 2004-11-16 23:35:47 GMT
