EVALUATION

Can I assume that these are all interactive installs of the JRE?
Are they to the new jre6 directory?
Can we get the scenario when the problem occurred and a zipped %TEMP%\java_install.log ?

Not enough information on what is causing the problem. I need to think about it.

EVALUATION

java_install_reg.log contains:
ExecuteProgram: "C:\Program Files\Java\jre6\bin\unpack200.exe" -r -v -l "C:\DOCUME~1\GPC-IT\LOCALS~1\Temp\java_install.log" "C:\Program Files\Java\jre6\lib\rt.pack" "C:\Program Files\Java\jre6\lib\rt.jar"
ExecuteProgram: ExitCode=-1073741819

-1073741819. is 0xC0000005 which is the value for STATUS_ACCESS_VIOLATION.
Is unpack200.exe returning an ACCESS_VIOLATION?

unpack200.exe fails before logging information like the following to java_install.log:
Unpacking from C:\Program Files\Java\jre6\lib\rt.pack to C:\Program Files\Java\jre6\lib\rt.jar
com.sun.java.util.jar.pack.unpack.log.file=C:\DOCUME~1\CHRISG~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\java_install.log
unpack.deflate.hint=(not set)
com.sun.java.util.jar.pack.unpack.remove.packfile=true
com.sun.java.util.jar.pack.verbose=1
com.sun.java.util.jar.pack.unpack.modification.time=(not set)
unpacker completed with status=0
A total of 10860092 bytes were read in 0 segment(s).
A total of 40833603 file content bytes were written.
A total of 16785 files (of which 16777 are classes) were written to output.

EVALUATION

I have no idea why unpack200.exe would report an access violation.

When the Error 26011 occurs, can:
"C:\Program Files\Java\jre6\bin\unpack200.exe" -r -v "C:\Program Files\Java\jre6\lib\rt.pack" "C:\Program Files\Java\jre6\lib\rt.jar"
be run from the command line?
Is anything displayed?
Does "C:\Program Files\Java\jre6\lib\rt.jar" exist before installation?
Are there any processes using "C:\Program Files\Java\jre6\lib\rt.jar"?
