Comments
Rick, Java 1.6 is supported by Apple. Re-closing this issue as Not an Issue since it's not reproducible with Oracle JDK, and thus isn't an issue for Oracle Java.

I have tested multiple machines with JDK8-b101, JDK7u25, JDK7u40 and Apple JDK6u51. I was not able to reproduce the issue. I'll close it as not reproducible for now, please reopen if you ever observe this again. In this case please post the detailed configuration of the machine you are using.

Again, the issue is not reproducible for me. I am using JDK8-b101, iMac Mid 2011, OS X 10.7.5 Rick, could you please retest on your environment and post some details if the issue is still reproducible.

I have seen a similar failure when I configure netbeans.conf to use 1.6.0_27-b07-395.jdk. That failure, however, doesn't occur frequently. I've only seen it once over a couple of days. I will post details on that failure too the next time it occurs.

This bug occurs for me on JDK 8. I changed the JDK version in ./Contents/Resources/NetBeans/etc/netbeans.conf as follows: netbeans_jdkhome="/Library/Java/JavaVirtualMachines/jdk1.8.0.jdk/Contents/Home" That version of the JDK is java version "1.8.0-ea" Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.8.0-ea-b93) Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 25.0-b34, mixed mode) Needless to say, it makes Netbeans 7.3.1 completely useless.

The issue is not reproducible on any of the tested machines. Could you please try to reproduce it again with the JDK 8? Please feel free to reopen the bug if it will still be reproducible for you.

Tried JDK7u15 with NetBeans 7.3 Beta 2 on my iMac 10.8.2 Build 12C2037. NetBeans starts up without problems. Next will try NetBeans 7.3 with JDK7u15.
